Happy Halloween

Here is this year's Halloween costumes. Wizard of Oz style...
Natalie- wicked witch
Jaxen and Brycen- Flying monkeys
Jordan- Scarecrow
Eliza- Dorothy
At one point we all had our complete costumes on, but by the time we actually got a picture, Eliza had lost her hair bows, Toto (the cat), I no longer had on my had, and Natalie had lost her broom.... but you can still get the idea. Natalie worked hard on these costumes and they turned out great!

Yes, this was taken in our basement. We had a huge party here tonight and found out we can fit about 50 people in our basement... It was a lot of fun.

Mount Rushmore

Grandpa and Grandma Jensen came with Amee to Fort Collins this past weekend. Saturday at about 1pm, we didnt have much going on, so we decided to head to South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore. It was a long drive, but we made it Saturday night and stayed in a hotel that has a water park! We played in the water Sunday morning and then headed to see the faces in the rocks. We got a bunch of pictures and then got on the road again to make it back to Fort Collins. It was a random adventure, but a lot of fun.

videos from the weekend

Jaxen and Brycen decided that they just couldn't sleep in their own beds, so they invaded ours.

Eliza showing off her cool bat costume... normally we dress our children in clothes, but this is what she wanted to wear after taking off her pajamas, and we decided why not?

Picture Fun

This afternoon we went up the canyon to try and get some family pictures with the fall colors. It was quite the task trying to juggle three kids and the camera, but we had a lot of fun and the kids actually all did really great.

Yummy and Yucky!

We went to the library and found this wonderful Yummy and yucky book that tells kids good things to eat and avoid. Simple right? Well apparently we need to read it many more times together.

1. Eliza was helping me shell peanuts for our asian salad. She put the entire shell in her mouth, took a large bite out of it and started to chew. No big deal....but I decide it probably won't help her digestive system so I try to fish out the pieces. Finger goes into her mouth and she bites hard. OUCH! Looking in to those innocent eyes, I tell her not to bite. I need to get the 'yucky' out. Finger in the mouth again and she bites again:

Moral of the story: Don't stick your finger in kid's mouths!!! ( how could I forget my cpr training!? They never trained us for people who are awake.)

2. Eliza was helping Jordan take care of the hedgehogs. The cat food (that is their favorite food) got tipped over and Jordan asked Eliza to clean it up. He left, came back and she was daintily putting catfood into her mouth. She had done this for some time because the mouth was full and she was happily chomping.

Moral of the story: Feed Eliza breakfast before doing Hedgehogs and refer to moral number one for a solution.....I guess she would have to finish chewing. YUCKY!!!!!

Random pictures from this week

Eliza loves to help in the kitchen. This is her helping to make german pancakes.

Despite moving out of Aggie Village, we went back for their big summer party (mostly to enjoy going and not having to be the people in charge of it like the last 2 years). Natalie and Eliza got their facepainted and we enjoyed seeing old friends and the free cotton candy.

And you wonder why Natalie hurt her back?
