Our lab was featured in the news
My lab recently published some findings on a potential new drug to treat west nile virus. I haven't had much to do with this project, but everyone around me has been working on it. It really probably isn't that significant, but the news heard about it and thought it sounded cool. The first link is a video or the news story and the rest are just written articles. We bought a Zoo...actually no, just a house!
Since the twins have arrived, we realized that our small apartment is going to be more cramped, crowded, and stressful than what is probably best. After seeing how expensive it is to rent a house or a large apartment, and with the mortgage rates so low, we decided to look into purchasing a home. The real estate market here in Fort Collins is ridiculous! Everyone wants to live in Fort Collins and with buyers mortgage rates= the demand for houses is high, but supply is low. Homes are selling 1-3 days after being on the market and the sellers are getting what they are asking or more. Almost every home that goes up has multiple offers within a day or two. Well, with some Divine intervention, we were able to be in contact with a family selling their home BEFORE it went on the market. We saw the home on wednesday and despite it not even being listed for sale yet, the realtor brought 3 different groups (not including Natalie and I) to see the home. We heard that everyone was liking what they saw, so we rushed to get financing approved and then made an offer on Thursday. We were the first to get the offer in and the seller's have accepted! It looks like we are buying a house! The closing date will hopefully be July 27th. The house needs a little bit of work, but it will be so nice to have the extra space!
